How does vitamin D support your health?

What is vitamin D?

Vitamin D is an essential vitamin which is key to supporting your health. It contributes to the normal absorption of calcium and phosphorus, helps to maintain normal bones and teeth, and contributes to normal muscle function. Importantly, vitamin D also supports your immune system; your body’s natural defender.

How do I get vitamin D?

Vitamin D is produced in the body when sunlight directly hits your skin. Between March and September, most people in the UK should be able to get all the vitamin D they need from sunlight. However, this is not always the case, particularly if you spend a lot of time indoors. It’s also more difficult to get the amount of vitamin D your body may need during the winter, when the days are shorter.

Vitamin D is also naturally present in some foods like red meat, oily fish and egg yolks. It’s added to foods such as non-dairy milks and breakfast cereals.

Do I need a vitamin D supplement?

Sometimes we might need a little extra support to get all the vitamin D we need, especially in the winter.

Berocca Immuno contains high-strength vitamin D, along with 9 other immunity vitamins & minerals: vitamins C, A, B6, B9 & B12 and minerals Zinc, Copper, Iron & Selenium, which all help support your immune system. It also contains vitamin E, an antioxidant which helps protect your cells from oxidative stress.
