    What does NRV mean?

NRV stands for Nutrient Reference Value. This is the daily amount of a vitamin or mineral that the average person should aim to include in their diet.

The % NRV in a food supplement label tells you how much of the recommend allowance for a vitamin or mineral allowance you get from each dose of the supplement.

It is a straight replacement for RDA (Recommended Daily Amount).

Should I be concerned that Berocca contains levels of vitamins above the NRV?

There is no need for concern that some of the vitamins in Berocca are at levels above the NRV (Nutrient Reference Values). They are all below the Upper Safe Levels which were established in 2003 by an expert group who examined information available for dietary vitamins and minerals.

The NRV of vitamins is an EU-recommended amount to ensure people are not lacking important nutrition. Some supplements contain levels of vitamins and minerals above the NRV where this nutrient intake is considered safe.

The B vitamins and vitamin C in Berocca are water-soluble vitamins. This is important for two reasons:

    • You need them in your diet every day because many are not stored in the body for any length of time.
    • Any B vitamins or vitamin C provided by your diet and Berocca that exceed your body’s needs are passed out of your system via urine.

Why doesn't my Berocca Orange Effervescent Tablets have paper foil in the tube?

The foil paper you may have previously seen has been phased out of the packaging of Berocca Orange Effervescent Tablets to help that packs sustainability.

    Intake

Can I take Berocca every day?

Berocca is suitable for daily use throughout the year and we suggest you enjoy one tablet per day.

It is important that you do not use Berocca to replace a healthy, balanced diet.

      How do you take Berocca?

Berocca,Berocca Immuno and Berocca Boost effervescent tablets: add 1 tablet to a glass or bottle of water and let it dissolve to make a great tasting and refreshing drink.

Berocca film-coated tablets: take 1 easy-to-swallow tablet with a glass of water.

Berocca Immuno contains vitamins D, C, A, B6, B9 & B12 as well as Zinc, Copper, Iron & Selenium, each support your immune system.

*Do not exceed 400mg of caffeine per day. Not recommended during pregnancy or for those breastfeeding.

Are there any safety issues associated with taking Berocca?

We are not aware of any safety issues specific to any of the Berocca formulations. The suggested daily intake for Berocca products is one tablet per day and it is recommended not to exceed this.

Berocca Effervescent, Immuno and Film Coated Tablets are not suitable for people with kidney problems, or for children under the age of 12 years old.

*Do not exceed 400mg of caffeine per day. Not recommended during pregnancy or for those breastfeeding.

Why does Berocca make my urine change colour?

All Berocca products contain B vitamins, as these are water-soluble so your body takes what it needs and discards the rest. The presence of B vitamins in your urine can result in a more intense colour.

This is harmless and not a cause for any concern.

Can I use Berocca during pregnancy/whilst breastfeeding?

Berocca is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women. This is due to the complex nutritional needs of pregnant and breastfeeding women and Berocca has not been specifically formulated for use as a pre/post-natal supplement. We recommend that you talk to your GP, midwife or pharmacist about food supplements.

      Is Berocca suitable for children?

Berocca Effervescent and Film Coated Tablets are suitable for children aged 12 years and over. Berocca Boost Tablets are suitable for adults only (aged 18 years and over).
