In need of a boost?
Berocca Boost contains caffeine which helps improve your alertness and concentration – giving you an additional kick, when needed. Do not exceed 400mg of caffeine per day. Not recommended during pregnancy or for those nursing/breast feeding.
Berocca contains negligible calories:
Both Berocca effervescent tablets and film-coated tablets contain all 8 B vitamins. Including vitamin B1 to help release energy and B5 to support mental performance.
Berocca film-coated tablets are swallowed with a glass of water.
Berocca effervescent tablets are dissolved in water to be enjoyed as a drink.
The film-coated tablets contain lactose in the coating, which should be noted by people with a vegan diet and a lactose/milk intolerance.
There are slightly different levels of vitamins and minerals in the film-coated tablets and the effervescent tablets, and between Berocca and Berocca Boost; please see below for more detail:
NRV stands for Nutrient Reference Value. This is the daily amount of a vitamin or mineral that the average person should aim to include in their diet.
The % NRV in a food supplement label tells you how much of the recommend allowance for a vitamin or mineral allowance you get from each dose of the supplement.
It is a straight replacement for RDA (Recommended Daily Amount).
There is no need for concern: the vitamins in Berocca are at levels above the NRV (Nutrient Reference Values), but they are all below the Upper Safe Levels which were established in 2003 by an expert group who examined information available for dietary vitamins and minerals
The NRV of vitamins is an EU-recommended amount to ensure people are not lacking important nutrition. Some supplements contain levels of vitamins and minerals above the NRV where this nutrient intake is considered safe.
The B vitamins and vitamin C in Berocca are water-soluble vitamins. This is important for two reasons:
Berocca is suitable for daily use throughout the year and we suggest you enjoy one tablet per day.
It is important that you do not use Berocca to replace a healthy, balanced diet.
For more information on healthy eating, you may find the guidance of the Food Standards Agency useful.

The recommended daily intake is one tablet per day, and Berocca is suitable and suggested for daily use.
Berocca and Berocca Boost effervescent tablets: add 1 tablet to a glass or bottle of water and let it to dissolve to make a great tasting and refreshing drink.
Berocca film-coated tablets: take 1 easy-to-swallow tablet with a glass of water.
Berocca Boost Fast Melts and Berocca Fizzy Melts: pour the sachet content directly onto your tongue.
We are not aware of any safety issues specific to any of the Berocca formulations. The suggested daily intake for Berocca products is one tablet or sachet per day and it is recommended not to exceed this.
Berocca Effervescent and Film Coated Tablets are not suitable for people with kidney problems.
Berocca Boost should not be taken in combination with ephedrine or other stimulants.
None of the Berocca products are suitable to those who are pregnant, breast-feeding or children under the age of 18 years old.
Berocca products contain vitamin B2 (riboflavin). Like all B vitamins, B2 is water-soluble so your body takes what it needs and discards the rest. The presence of vitamin B2 in your urine can result in a more intense colour.
This is harmless and not a cause for any concern.
Berocca and Berocca Boost are suitable for adults (aged 18 years and over). For children there are special food supplements which provide a balanced formulation of the vitamins and minerals a young child needs for healthy growth and development.
Some Berocca effervescent tablets do contain aspartame at a low level which is well below the acceptable daily intake set by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
If you would prefer to enjoy aspartame-free Berocca, then we suggest you try; Berocca Blackcurrant effervescent tablets, Berocca Boost Fast Melt Powder and Berocca Orange Fizzy Melts as they do not contain aspartame (they contain Sucralose and Acesulfame K). .
All ingredients in our products, including sweeteners, are tightly regulated and their safety had been rigorously assessed.
Aspartame is a low-calorie alternative to sugar and can be found in many foodstuffs, including sugar-free fizzy drinks, yoghurts and chewing gum. Aspartame has been assessed as being safe as an ingredient in foods and food supplements by both the UK Government Food Standard Agency (FSA) and EFSA. The safety of aspartame was re-reviewed by EFSA in December 2013 and it was concluded that aspartame and its breakdown products are safe for the general population (including infants, children and pregnant women).

The same as normal Berocca, just without the fizz.
Berocca effervescent tablets and film-coated tablets do not contain any caffeine.
Berocca Boost contains caffeine and guarana, a natural source of caffeine. Caffeine helps improve alertness and concentration.
Total caffeine in one Berocca Boost effervescent tablet: 75 mg
Total caffeine in one Berocca Boost powder sachet: 75 mg
There is no NRV for caffeine intake for the general population; however, guidelines suggest that women who are pregnant or breastfeeding limit daily caffeine intake to 200 mg, the equivalent of two cups of instant coffee. It is not recommended for anyone to exceed a daily caffeine intake of 400mg.
Berocca and Berocca Boost products do not contain yeast.
Berocca does not contribute to significantly increased sodium intake levels when used according to on pack instructions. Berocca recommends taking only one a day.
The sodium in the effervescent tablets comes mainly in the form of sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate which are used to create the well-known “Berocca fizz”. These ingredients are used in almost all effervescent tablets. Sodium bicarbonate is also commonly used as a raising ingredient in baking and is also known as “baking soda” or “bread soda”.
Salt is classified as sodium chloride. Berocca effervescent tablets each contain 273–287 mg of sodium. This is equivalent to around 0.7g (682.5-717.5 mg) of salt.
For those who are looking to reduce their sodium intake further, Berocca is also available in non-effervescent formats.
The recommended intake of salt per day for an adult is 6g (6000mg). 75% of the salt that we eat comes from everyday processed foods, such as bread, breakfast cereal and ready meals.
Absolutely. If you’re a vegetarian, you can rest assured that both Berocca effervescent & film coated tablets and Berocca effervescent tablets and powders are suitable for you.

Berocca and Berocca Boost effervescent tablets are sugar-free.
Berocca film-coated tablets are not sugar free - they contain around 0.1 g of sugar per tablet, mainly in the form of lactose.
